We know different people need different ways to explore and develop their spirituality. That is why we offer different types of services and spiritual experiences to meet the needs of everyone regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.

Sunday mornings: all are welcome

Our Sunday Morning Worship Services offer a compelling worship experience with inspirational sermons, prayer and music. These services are held at 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. every Sunday from September to June. At both services we offer Toddler Ministry, a Sunday school program for children and engaging programming for youth.

During the summer months, we hold one service at 10:30 am and move to the air-conditioned comfort of Stewart East Hall where we worship together “in the round.” This service offers a worship experience that is engaging, communal and meaningful. We continue to offer Toddler Ministry and Sunday programming for children and youth.

sunday evenings: THE Resonance Project

The Resonance Project is a fresh worship and social experience geared to youth and young adults. Resonance seeks new and different ways to connect with God, ourselves, and one another through food, music, art and community in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Every other month, The Resonance Project gathers for dinner, followed by worship in a cosy setting, where our Christian practices engage various themes in conversation with other wisdom traditions. Guest artists and speakers are invited to centre the gatherings, while the Resonance house band grounds the experience with both upbeat and contemplative music. It’s a safe space to explore faith and life issues with a community you can trust.

On alternate months, The Resonance Project hosts social events at Islington United and around the city. From board games to karaoke to escape rooms, people can try new activities, participate in favourite pastimes and make new friends!

CHRISTMAS

Christmas at Islington United Church is a true wonder to behold. We mark the beginning of the season with an annual all-ages Light Up the Night Celebration as we count down the days of Advent, coming ever closer to the mystery of Christmas.

The Christmas season is marked by a lauded concert, “Christmas in Islington,” joyous Sunday services filled with song and anticipation, and culminating on December 24 with four services: Family service at 5:30 pm, Christmas services at 7:00 and 9:00 pm and a candlelight service at 11:00 pm.
