Music is one way we connect with God and experience community with each other. At Islington United, music is an integral part of worship together.

choirs

We are blessed with an active choral program at Islington United Church. Beyond singing together, our choirs offer opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive space. We have fun together and take care of each other. If you are interested in learning more about one of our choirs, please feel free to reach out to our directors.

Children's Chorus

Our Children’s Chorus, directed by Cynthia Smithers, offers weekly vocal instruction to children from JK up to grade 6 on Thursday evenings starting with a community dinner at 5:00 pm followed by rehearsal at 5:45 pm.

The Children’s Chorus participates in Sunday worship approximately once a month. This is a free program offered to the church and surrounding community. You do not need to be a member of the church to join the children’s chorus. All children are welcomed.

Chiming Ministry

The Chiming Ministry calls the community to worship by playing the steeple bells each Sunday morning. This group of faithful volunteers are trained on how to access these bells. Anyone with the ability to play the piano could learn this skill and be added to our roster of faithful chimers at Islington United.

Handbell Chancel Choir

The Islington United Church Handbell Chanel Choir has a four-octave set of Schulmerich bells. These beautiful bells ring on Sunday mornings approximately once per month and is open to accepting new members.

The handbell choir rehearses for an hour on Thursday evenings at 6:45 pm.
