Helping You Grow Your Faith

Different people need different ways to explore and develop their spirituality. We offer a variety of services and spiritual experiences, to meet people where they are on their journey.

Meditation

Meditation offers an opportunity to reduce stress, grow in self-knowledge, and come closer to God. We offer twice-weekly drop-in guided group meditation where all are welcome and no experience is required.

;

Sunday Mornings

This is one of the most important things we do together as a church. We gather on a Sunday morning to remember who we are and whose we are. We are reminded that we are not alone.

;

Sunday Evenings

Come to connect with God, yourself, and others through food, music, art and community in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Resonance is offered at 6:00 pm on the first Sunday of each month.

Sunday Mornings

All are welcome to attend in-person and live-streamed worship services Sunday mornings at 10:30 am.

Whether you have all the answers or nothing but questions, you are welcome in this space.

IUC is a place that encourages wondering, discussion and journeying together.

Coffee Hour

Following the end of the worship service at 11:30 am, we gather in Stewart East Hall for refreshments, courtesy of our fabulous Hospitality Team.

Come for coffee (or tea) and conversation. It’s a great way to meet new people.

In the summer, we gather outdoors on the front lawn for cool refreshments.

Children

Also at 10:30 am, we offer in-person Toddler Ministry for our youngest attendees (1 to 3 years) and Children’s Worship (for 4 to 12 years) in the style of Godly Play.

Godly Play uses a child-centered, hands-on approach to help children and youth come closer to God as they experience God’s story on their own terms.

Family Friendly

For those who wish to remain in service, we also have a family-friendly area in the Sanctuary with space to move around and engage in quiet activities.

We also offer worship activity bags for young people to use during the service. A member of the Welcome Team can provide one when you arrive. At the end of the service, please leave the bag at the end of your pew or in the family friendly area to be used another time.

Intergenerational Worship

Several times during the year, we also offer intergenerational services where all ages are encouraged to participate.

Upcoming Worship Service

Meditation

We offer in person and online group meditation facilitated and guided by James Aitchison. Everyone is welcome and no experience is required.

Our focus is on breath-centered meditation, inviting our bodies to relax while remaining alert. We also incorporate body scanning and usually finish with gratitude meditation.

In person: Monday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Chapel.
Online: Wednesday afternoons at 5:00 pm on Zoom.
Anytime: Access the library of previously recorded sessions.

Sunday Evenings

Resonance is a worship and engagement experience geared to connect to our community through contemporary music and themes in a relaxed and friendly space.

Sharing a meal is a central part of each Resonance event. The meal begins at 6:00 pm and then we move into the worship space as we feel ready, generally a bit before 7:00 pm. The service wraps up around 8:00 pm.

This event is run by young adults and you are welcome to get involved. Check the Events Calendar for the next Resonance evening.

Bible Study

As followers of Jesus, we share a common story. The wisdom of the Bible is foundational to our faith journey. We invite you to join our bible study groups that meet each week to discuss a selection of contemporary Christian literature in relationship to words of scripture.

We are currently reading How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith by Mariann Edgar Budde

Bible Study Groups: Starting September 30 & October 2, 2025
Tuesdays at 10:00 am on Zoom with Jack Grady
Thursdays at 10:00 am on Zoom with Rev. Maya Landell.
