According to the United Church of Canada, any woman “willing to contribute her prayers, gifts, and services for the work of the Church” may join the United Church Women (UCW). The UCW has been described as the “hands and feet” of the church. It is a time of networking, building community, providing support for one another and serving in our neighbourhoods.
Women within the United Church have participated in UCW groups since the organization was formally inaugurated in 1962. Any woman who is willing to contribute to the work of the Church is welcome to become part of Islington’s UCW.
UCW offers fellowship, exploration and development of faith and leadership development for women of all ages in the congregation. Our UCW group, the Jubilee Unit, focuses on outreach ministries. All with an interest are invited to join us.
