Islington Reads

Our next Islington Reads book club meeting will be on May 6, 2025 at 7 pm when we will welcome Frances Itani and discuss her book The Company We Keep.

Frances Itani is a writer of fiction, essays and poetry. Her 2003 novel, Deafening, won the Commonwealth Writers Prize. Itani is a Member of the Order of Canada. She was the 2021 recipient of the Writers Trust of Canada’s Matt Cohen Award. Other books she has written include Leaning, Leaning Over Water (1998), Remembering the Bones (2007), Missing (2011), Requiem (2011), Tell (2014) (shortlisted for the Giller Prize) and That’s My Baby (2017).
