Today we journey towards the cross, holding our burdens and laying them down. Jesus resisted the empire but accepts his fate. We are also called to resist systems of power and oppression, and yet we ultimately have to accept that Jesus dies – and one day we will too. Stepping into this story helps our own discernment of when to accept as given and what to resist.
