Don Banks Music Awards Concert 2022

Established in 2011 with an endowment from the late Don Banks, Islington United Church member and former Etobicoke principal, the Don Banks Music Awards committee annually offers a special opportunity for local music students. Each spring, students compete in auditions for the chance to participate in the finalists’ competition concert. At this concert, well-known adjudicators select the winners who receive scholarship awards.

For the second year, the competition concert is virtual rather than in our church sanctuary. Last year’s virtual concert attracted 200 viewers, and this year’s concert promises to be just as exciting and uplifting. Adjudicators Marcus Scholtes and Elaine Choi will select winners from twelve finalists who will present a variety of instrumental and vocal entries.
