John 18:1—19:42 Jesus is arrested\, tried\, & crucified. Luke 23: 32-49 Jesus hung beside thieves \nToday we journey towards the cross\, holding our burdens and laying them down. Jesus resisted the empire but accepts his fate. We are also called to resist systems of power and oppression\, and yet we ultimately have to accept that Jesus dies – and one day we will too.
