SUMMARY:Back to the Rock: A Choral Performance
DESCRIPTION:The Senior Choir is preparing for an exciting journey to Newfoundland on June 27 where 30 members—including our four talented staff singers\, Minister of Music Jason Locke and pianist Marjorie Wiens—will be sharing their voices with small communities in and around St. John’s. Our concerts will support important local initiatives in Winterton and St. John’s\, making this both a musical and meaningful trip. \nBefore we go\, we invite you to experience the tour program right here at home! Join us on Sunday\, June 15 at 3:30 pm at our Bloordale Campus for a special Pre-Tour Concert. This is your chance to enjoy the full concert repertoire while supporting the choir. \nTickets are $30\, with proceeds going to help cover essential travel costs. Tickets are available online and can be purchased in person on May 25\, June 1 and June 8. SUMMARY:Psalms in a Sacred Space: A Graduation Recital for Jason Locke
DESCRIPTION:Jason Locke\, our Minister of Music\, is nearing the end of his degree program at Western University. On March 8th\, at 7:00 p.m.\, he will be presenting his graduation recital at Islington United Church: Psalms in a Sacred Space. This program will feature a variety of Psalm settings\, including a number of Jason’s Psalm settings from an early composition: “Suite of Psalms”.\n\nThe Senior choir will present this evening of music in collaboration with our pianist Marjorie Wiens\, bassist Malcolm Connor and drummer Jake Wiseman. Please come and join in this evening of inspiring and uplifting choral music. If you are unable to make it in-person\, the event will be live-streamed.
