A Few Good Men and Women

A Message from Rev. Maya Landell

What a weekend lies ahead of us! On Sunday at the 11:15 am service, we will welcome back over 200 people from our sponsored families of the Refugee Support Ministry – celebrating 40 years. It’s going to be full to overflowing at the second service. There is much to celebrate.

Rev. Michael Blair, Executive Minister for Church in Mission at the United Church of Canada, will be our guest preacher at both services.

So I have a favour to ask: please, please, please, park at the Islington School, Turner and Porter, or carpool, or park on the side street. It is vital that we make space for our guests, and a little fresh air will do everyone good. Refer to this parking map and share with your friends.

In the news: The CBC may be here on Sunday to do a story on the Refugee Support Ministry, so please be your best welcoming selves. 🙂

And we’ve also been snapd! Check out the coverage.

I want to highlight that Jack Grady is doing Bible study bi-weekly on The Story on Tuesdays at 10:30 am in The Chapel. The next gathering is November 12 (see this week’s announcements for details and dates). Don’t miss out.

Speaking of The Story, we are now moving into Chapter 8.
Chapter 8: A Few Good Men and Women

The Story chapter 8 a few good
Keep reading friends. Keep living into the story. God’s story is our story, and we are finding our way.

It’s November 1, All Saints Day (following the storm of Hallowe’en). May you be surrounded by the cloud of witnesses that holds us in the peace that passes all understanding.

What a blessing. See you Sunday.
