Islington United is a learning church with groups to help people at all stages in their spiritual journey explore and develop their understanding of God, Christian Faith and the importance of Christianity in today’s complex world.Whether you are looking for discussion groups to help you learn more about the Christian Faith or prayer and meditation groups to explore your spirituality we have groups for you. Take some time to review the courses and groups provided by Islington United to help people to discover, explore and develop their spirituality. 
 

Bible 101

Have you ever wondered:
Who were all the disciples?
Who wrote the bible and when?  
How many books are there?
Who are the tribes of Israel?


Come and join our Bible 101 this summer. We will answer those questions and more. Find out some interesting facts and historical background about our Holy Scripture. Become familiar with your bible, there is always more to learn. We’ll make it fun, too! Meeting at 10 am on July 25, August 1, 8, 15, and 22 in the chapel.  All are welcome! You Groups

Islington United’s YOU Groups are peer-led women’s groups to promote personal growth and spiritual development. We have three You Groups at Islington that are held at different times of the week. YOU 1 is held once a month on Wednesday evenings. YOU 2 gathers on the third Monday of each month at 1:15 pm. YOU 3 connects once a month on a Tuesday evening. Week of Guided Prayer

Lenten Studies

A Day Apart

Being Our Best in Every Season of Life with guest speaker, Suzanne Baresich held here at Islington United, Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Youth Confirmation

Youth Confirmation is a wonderful opportunity to explore your faith in an in-depth, year-long program. Confirmands attending weekly sessions learn more about faith and discuss its relevance in today’s world. Confirmands are also paired with an adult Church member who participates with them during this special faith journey. The completion of the Confirmation program is celebrated in a special worship service in June where confirmands are welcomed as full members of the Church. Baptism Preparation

Baptism Preparation is a one evening session held at Islington United Church designed to prepare you for an infant, child or adult baptism - the sacrament of initiation into the Christian church. Marriage Preparation

Choosing a life partner and getting married is one of the most important and exciting stages of a person's life. Being married brings joy, shared experiences, responsibilities, and occasionally, conflict. According to research, common problem areas are finances, division of household responsibilities, sexual incompatibility, and family issues. The Islington United Church Marriage Preparation Program helps engaged and newlywed couples examine their own expectations in each of these areas and explores healthy ways of communicating, resolving conflict, and working together in a partnership that is loving, supportive and happy.
